Steve M. Shrum, MD, FAAP
Dr. Shrum was raised and graduated high school in Harrison, AR. He then went to the University of Arkansas and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Afterwards, he moved to Little Rock with his wife Dixie. He completed his Medical Doctorate degree in 2001 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Dr. Shrum then completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatric Residency Program. He trained at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, UAMS and McClellan’s VA Hospital and currently provides care to patients from prematurity to geriatrics. He serves on several boards of non-profit organizations in town and is actively involved at NARMC in leadership roles. His hobbies include coaching the youth of Harrison, hunting and flying.
Dawn Phelps, MD
Dr. Phelps graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She also has a Masters in Criminal Justice from UALR. She went to medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and graduated in 2003. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. Her main areas of focus were high risk obstetrics and minimally invasive surgery.
Dixie Shrum, APN, PNP-BC
Mrs. Shrum graduated from Harrison High School. She obtained her Bachelors of Nursing from University of Arkansas-Fayetteville in 1996 and Masters of Nursing from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2000. She is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Dixie previously worked at Arkansas Children's Hospital for 9 years and is currently seeing pediatric patients at Cornerstone Medical Clinic. She was born and raised in Harrison and is very happy to be back home since 2005. She and her husband, Dr. Steve Shrum, have three children. They enjoy attending the children's activities which mostly consists of every sport imaginable. They are also active in their church, First Baptist Church of Harrison. Dixie is a member of Junior Auxiliary of Harrison and enjoys helping children in that capacity as well.
Rana Burnside, APN, FNP-BC
Mrs. Burnside is board certified for family practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center . She holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Central Arkansas, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Pensacola Christian College, and is an inductee into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She has 21 years of nursing practice experience during which time she has practiced in varied primary and ambulatory health care settings, taught in the Registered Nursing Program at North Arkansas College, and practiced for 10 years as an advanced practice family nurse practitioner. She and her husband Jon Burnside have lived in Harrison for 20 years and together have two children.
